He has been responsible for introducing several new minimally invasive techniques to Australasia, including single port laparoscopic hysterectomy. He has also completed a Doctoral thesis in gynaecology research.

Dynes works closely with a team of high-calibre allied health professionals including a women's health physiotherapist for pelvic floor and prolapse issues, a women's health clinical psychologist for sexuality and relationship issues, and nutritionists.

His main consulting rooms are in the Wellington CBD and Hutt Valley, but he is very keen to see services delivered as close to a woman's area of residence as possible, so also runs frequent satellite clinics on the Kapiti Coast.

Dynes is a gynaecologist who looks after women with heavy periods, urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, and cancer problems. He treats women with pelvic endometriosis.
