Dr Parker is a Rehabilitation Physician and a member of the Rehabilitation Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand, and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She is experienced in the assessment and rehabilitation of many long-term health issues, both following illness or injury. Her specific interests are in treatment and rehabilitation of persistent pain conditions including Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and other neurogenic origin pain conditions, brain and spinal cord injury, amputee medicine and orthopaedic and multi trauma. Her experience includes working previously at Burwood Hospital in the Spinal Cord Injuries Unit, Brain Injuries Rehabilitation Unit and Pain Service, and since 2007,  she has been working in these fields primarily in the community and with the NZ Artificial Limb Service.

As a Rehabilitation Physician Dr Parker’s assessment includes consideration of the medical aspects of presentation, and additionally considers the wider biopsychosocial approach, recognising the holistic approach to assessment and management.  There are a wide variety of bodily processes, life situations and/or activities that may affect conditions and management.
Dr Parker is a wife and mother, and enjoys exercise and keeping fit via surfing, surf lifesaving, swimming, gym work, tennis and walking/running. 

Dr Parker's specific interests are in treatment and rehabilitation of:

• persistent pain conditions including Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and other neurogenic origin pain conditions
• brain and spinal cord injury
• amputee medicine
• orthopaedic and multi trauma.
