He has fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery for the precise excision and reconstruction of skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, and rare skin tumours.

His fellowship included training in advanced dermatological surgery for the treatment of cancerous and non-cancerous conditions involving the skin and nails, and laser treatment for a wide range of skin problems (dilated blood vessels, spider vessels, flushing and blushing, congenital and acquired vascular lesions, pigmented lesions and tattoos, scars (including hypertrophic and keloid scars), rhinophyma, benign lesions, and excess hair).

Marc manages a range of medical skin conditions, including hypertrophic and keloid scars, acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, nail disorders, and alopecia.

He is also trained in administering non-invasive cosmetic treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections (e.g. Botox™), dermal fillers, chemical peels, and laser skin rejuvenation.

Marc completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Otago, and his Medical Degree at the University of Auckland. Following graduation, he worked at Auckland City Hospital and Middlemore Hospital before undertaking his Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) Advanced Training in Dermatology at Waikato Hospital, Greenlane and Auckland City Hospital, and the NHS Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. During his training in England, Dr Lawrence was awarded a British Society for Dermatological Surgery (BSDS), British College of Dermatology (BCD), and British Association of Dermatology (BAD) Mohs micrographic surgery fellowship, also becoming an International Affiliate Member of the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS).

Marc is a fellow of the New Zealand Dermatological Society Incorporated (NZDSI), and his memberships include the British Society for Dermatological Surgery (BSDS), British Association of Dermatology (BAD), and the Dermatologic & Aesthetic Surgery International League (DASIL).

He has presented and published several medical papers in international peer-reviewed journals, including the Australasian Journal of Dermatology and the American Journal of Dermatopathology. In addition, he was awarded the Turnbull Hodge Award for Best Presentation at the NZDSI annual meeting in 2019, and more recently, received an award for his presentation to the North of England Dermatology Society (NEDS) and Scottish Dermatology Society (SDS) meeting in October 2021.

Marc was born and brought up in Auckland and in his spare time enjoys spending time with his family and enjoying the outdoors.
