Profile

Dr Rob Jones is a specialist cataract, eyelid and lacrimal surgeon, who is fully trained in ‘keyhole’ micro-incision cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) and the lens replacement procedure. He originally hails from Wales where he gained his medical degree (Cardiff University) in 2005. He then trained in Dunedin, Wellington and Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital before passing his final exams on first sitting and becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO). In 2015, he spent a year in Hereford County Hospital, England, where he gained advanced subspecialist skills in complex cataract surgery and specialist techniques in eyelid surgery including tumour excision and reconstruction, tear system surgery and cosmetic procedures such as eyelid lifts (correctly termed: “ptosis surgery”) and the removal of excess eyelid skin (“blepharoplasty”).

Dr Jones takes pride in providing a bespoke and professional service in both public and private hospital settings. He is happy to see patients with cataract, eyelid, glaucoma or any other general ophthalmic condition where diagnosis, management or reassurance may be required.
