Charles is an orthopaedic specialist who has practices in New Plymouth New Zealand. Charles has trained in some of the United Kingdoms most prestigious centers including the Internationally renowned Royal Orthopaedic hospital in Birmingham and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. He has also undergone fellowship training in Wellington New Zealand.

Charles has performed over 300 joint replacements and 50 revision joint replacements over the last 18 months.

Charles is continually striving to improve patient care and surgical techniques for his patients. He does this by being actively involved in clinical research and has published over 30 articles. He is also recently involved in introducing enhanced recovery after surgery for patients undergoing joint replacements at Base Hospital to ensure optimal analgesia and outcomes for the patients.

Charles has a major focus specialising in the surgical management of arthritis, joint reconstruction and replacement surgery.

• Revision hip and knee replacements
• General trauma and orthopaedics / Sports surgery

Orthopaedic Surgeon

A graduate of University College London UK who then completed his specialist training in the West Midlands at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwick and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Birmingham.

Following this specialist joint replacement fellowship, training took place in Wellington NZ and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre Oxford, UK.
