Profile

Mr James Taylor is a Christchurch based Orthopaedic Surgeon with a particular interest in hip and knee replacement, sports related  surgery, arthroscopic knee surgery, and orthopaedic trauma.

 Mr Taylor went to school in Christchurch, then studied to graduate with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Otago University. He completed his advanced training in Orthopaedic Surgery through the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association (NZOA) becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

 On completing his training, Mr Taylor underwent post fellowship training in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty at the London Ontario Health Sciences Centre, London, Ontario, Canada. He also underwent post fellowship training in Orthopaedic Trauma at the Vancouver General Hospital, Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada.

Mr Taylor is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Christchurch Public and Burwood Hospitals

His private practice is based at the Elmwood Orthopaedic Centre. He undertakes surgery at Southern Cross Hospital and St George's Hospital.
