Hepatitis C Support and Treatment Community Service (HCSAT) | Northern Region

Description

Hep C Support and Treatment Service (HCSAT) is a regional telehealth service for patients in the Northern Region (Northland and Auckland), providing support for people to access Hepatitis C testing and treatment. We are here to take calls from people who have Hepatitis C and would like support to cure it.

Programmes details:

  • HCSAT has a dedicated coordinator and doctors who will support patients throughout their treatment journey
  • The service caters for those who have had difficulty accessing Hepatitis C (Hep C) testing or treatment
  • The service has been designed with consideration for tikanga Māori
  • Assessment, support, prescribing and follow-up are provided over the phone

We can also support patients to get to pharmacies, community labs, fibroscans, or specialist assessments for Hep C related appointments.

  • Live in the Northern Region (Northland, Waitematā, Te Toka Tumai or Counties Healthdistricts)
  • Are aged 16 years and older
  • Live with Hepatitis C

How to make a clinical referral?

  • Health NZ clinicians in metro-Auckland can refer using the internal e-referral pathway via clinical portal.
  • Primary care clinicians in metro-Auckland can send e-referrals from their patient management system.
  • Health NZ and primary care clinicians in Northland can refer by emailing
  • Health providers who do not have access to e-referrals can also send their referrals through using this link: Northern Region Hep C Support and Treatment Referral (hanz.health.nz).
