Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
Flexible sigmoidoscopy is a limited form of colonoscopy in which only the lower part of the colon and rectum is examined. Preparation for the procedure is usually with enemas. The procedure can be done with or without sedation. A colonoscope is used for the procedure and biopsies, polyp removal and other treatments can be undertaken during the procedure.
