Formerly Southern DHB Primary Birthing Unit - Alexandra

Central Otago Maternty Unit, Alexandra, is a primary birthing unit staffed by nurses and midwives who provide round the clock care for women during and post giving birth. Qualified staff will assist your LMC carer during labour and birth, with private rooms and birthing pool available. Post-delivery the unit offers a home-like nurturing environment for women and their partners/whānau, and staff offer help with caring for your new baby and breastfeeding. Women may also choose to transfer to Central Otago Maternty Unit after birthing elsewhere. BFHI accredited.
