Referrals are received through the Community Mental Health and Alcohol & Drug Services or the Mental Health Inpatient Unit.

Description
We are a small specialist team that works as part of your local Community Mental Health and Alcohol & Drug Service. We provide support and treatment to people between the ages of 13 and 35 who are experiencing a “first psychotic episode” and who live in the Northland area.
 
Our objective is to provide a service to people who experience acute mental illness and to assist them with maintaining mental wellness.

We offer a number of services including:

  • Comprehensive assessments, with the involvement of culturally appropriate services (where possible), or an interpreter when appropriate
  • Information for clients and their whanau/families about psychosis
  • Specific skills, such as problem solving and communication skills when needed
  • Carefully planning the use of medication when it is indicated
  • The opportunity for client and whanau/family to discuss important issues in their lives
  • Family support
  • Group activities
  • Support to explore work/training opportunities
  • Involvement of other services.

8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Mon – Fri8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
