Referral Process

Entry and admission can be initiated through one of Mental Health Services three crisis teams, or local Community Mental Health & Addiction Teams or as a 'Transfer of Care' from another inpatient unit or General Hospital.

Description

Tumanako is a 29 bed inpatient unit for people experiencing an acute phrase of their psychiatric illness, or who are in need of a period of close observation and/or intensive investigation and/or intervention, where this is unable to be safely provided within the client's home or less acute treatment facility.

Our Service supports all age groups (Child, Youth, Adult, Older adult), who are experiencing acute symptoms.
