Description

COVID-19 Update

As a result of the national COVID-19 Level 4 pandemic response there are strict restrictions on what dental care can be provided in New Zealand and when possible, dental care is being deferred.  As part of the Auckland District Health Board response to COVID-19 all existing routine Hospital & Specialist Dentistry dental appointments and referrals have been deferred.

Dentists are only able to provide urgent and emergency care following an accident, for serious dental and mouth infections and the relief of toothache where the pain cannot be managed with pain relief medication and antibiotics.

A very limited number of relief of pain appointments for the extraction of a tooth are being provided for patients whose pain and/or infection cannot be controlled by medications and antibiotics.  A small number of appointments for the extraction of a tooth are available Monday - Friday by phoning (09) 630 9809.  No walk-up / walk-in patients will be accepted; you must have a booked appointment.

Consider contacting your dentist or medical practitioner if you have dental concerns.  Information on currently open private dental practices available in Auckland can be found on the Auckland Dental Association website www.ada.co.nz.

If you are an existing patient of Auckland Regional Hospital & Specialist Dentistry and have concerns regarding your current treatment, please contact us on (09) 307 8900 ext 26320.

If you have a dental or mouth infection and a significantly swollen face which is making you feel very unwell you should seek care from a hospital emergency department.
