Child Health Centre provides outpatient services for the assessment of childhood medical, physical and developmental problems for children in Northland aged 0 – 16 years.

Behaviour Support Specialist

The service aims to assess and support parents/carers involved with a child/adolescent to manage and reduce the frequency and intensity of challenging behaviours and to develop alternative positive behaviours. Children will have an intellectual disability to access this service.

CDAC

Is a multidisciplinary assessment team which involves a group of professionals working together collaboratively to assess children suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Clinic Nurse

Supports the running of Paediatric clinics and also runs nurse-led clinics for children with chronic constipation.

Supports children and their families to learn healthy food habits to make sure they get the proper nutrition their bodies need for health and growth.

Eczema & Allergy Clinic

Provides detailed education in the management of eczema and allergies. They support children and their families to gain the confidence to manage eczema and allergies on a day to day basis.

Healthy Lifestyles Programme

The Healthy Lifestyles Programme provides information and supports for children and their families to make long term changes so children with an increased BMI can 'grow into their weight'. This service is for the whole family and focuses on the child. It requires full commitment and support from their families to be good role models, provide encouragement and support to make changes. Occupational therapy (OT)

Helping children to do all the things they need and/or want to do. This includes help and support to care for themselves e.g. dressing, toileting and feeding themselves. They help children to take part in age appropriate play and participate at school or in an early childhood setting.

Provides assessment and follow-up after discharge from hospital as well as providing ongoing support and monitoring of children with chronic illnesses and/or disabilities.
