Referral Expectations
Manukau SuperClinic™ Referrals and Appointments Centre receives all referrals.
These are then forwarded to Module 4.
A paediatrician reviews all referrals which may be accepted or declined.
If a referral is accepted the following occurs:
- an appointment is offered
- is placed on a waiting list
- is managed as a 'virtual' appointment with a clinical plan of care being communicated to the referrer and/or caregiver.
Your Family Doctor / Referring Health Professional is advised of the outcome for all referrals - whether accepted or declined.
Appointments:
Once a suitable appointment time is agreed with the parent/caregiver a letter is sent to confirm appointment details. A reminder text is sent to the parent/caregiver prior to the appointment.
Please ensure the Family Doctor / Referring Health Professional has the patient's correct contact details.
