Description

Intensive support service for pregnant women or parents with children under three years of age, who are experiencing problems with alcohol or drugs.

Te Ara Manapou has an Addiction and Maternal Mental Health arm. Whilst the Addiction arm provides support for pregnant mothers and whānau with moderate to severe addiction with children up to the age of 3, the Maternal Mental Health arm supports women with moderate to severe mental health both antenatally and postnatally up until the end of the first year after they give birth.

Staff

We are a multi-disciplinary team that consists of Nursing, Allied Health, Psychology, Psychiatry and Peer support staff.

The team provides support to help mums and dads regain control of their lives by: Meeting where you feel safe Helping you to reach recovery and parenting goals to improve outcomes for your children Working on your behalf to reduce stigma you might experience from other services Provide education on the effects of alcohol and other drug use during pregnancy and on parenting
