How do I access this service?

Referral

Referral Expectations

You may be referred to Tupu Ora by your Community Mental Health Centre (CMHC) or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) or by a hospital.

Tupu Ora does not accept self-referrals or referrals directly from General Practices (GPs).
GPs are asked to refer all clients with suspected eating disorders to the CMHC or CAMHS in the person's local area. Service areas may have local Eating Disorder Liaison (EDL) clinicians who facilitate liaison between the CMHC/CAMHS and Tupu Ora.

Clinical pathways are in place, and where necessary, referrals may be fast tracked to Tupu Ora or to inpatient services by secondary service clinicians.

You must live in the Auckland region to qualify for treatment for Tupu Ora community outpatient services.
