Description
The Child Protection Service works throughout Northland to promote awareness and provide education and understanding on the identification and impact of child abuse and family violence; this also includes partner abuse and abuse of the elderly.

Services
Clinical Services The service provides health care for children and young people aged 0 – 13 years following a disclosure of historic sexual abuse or recent sexual assault. Services include: Medical assessments Assessment and Treatment Service Forensic assessments Education, reassurance and support Referral to counselling Screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections Sexual health and contraception advice Emergency contraception Pregnancy testing Register ACC claims Educational Services Clinical staff work throughout Northland to raise awareness and to support actions that prevent and protect children from sexual abuse; by providing: Education Information and resources Consultation and advice Consultation on childhood sexual behaviours.
