Profile

Mr. Christopher Wakeman is an experienced General Surgeon specializing in colorectal surgery and active in research on familial bowel cancer and colorectal cancer treatment outcomes. He completed his medical education in New Zealand and advanced training in Melbourne and London, including a fellowship at St Marks Hospital. Since 2011, he has been practicing as a general and colorectal surgeon at Christchurch Hospital and serves as a medical advisor to the Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Registry.
In addition, he is a Senior Lecturer at Otago University, where he plays a key role in teaching medical students and course coordination. His commitment to patient care and research is demonstrated through his involvement in advancing gastrointestinal healthcare services in New Zealand.
