Description

At Mid North Women's Aid & Refuge Society, we provide the support and information you need when impacted by violence in your life. Victims may be in same-sex relationships, transgender or non-binary. No one deserves to be abused and family violence is never OK. 

Our vision is for all people to live free from domestic and family violence.

Our free confidential services include:

  • Confidential, non-judgmental support
  • 24-hour crisis line
  • Home and community visits
  • Home safety/security upgrades/alarms (subject to meeting criteria)
  • Support in isolated regions
  • Advocacy when dealing with police, legal, court, WINZ, housing, doctors, immigration, school’s and Oranga Tamariki
  • Referrals to counsellors, doctors, lawyers, and other support services
  • Education and support groups for women and children about living free from violence
  • Information and presentations to community groups, schools, and workplace as part of our Workplace Refuge training
