The Awhina Society operates to provide a 24/7 means of escape from domestic violence in the Taupō Community by providing support, nourishment, encouragement and advocacy for families and individuals in need.
The Taupō Women's Refuge works with women to make positive change by working alongside the Awhina Society. A safe house is also available to women and children suffering the effects of family violence.
The Taupō Community Food Bank service is also available.
