SOS provides specialist support services for women, children and wider whānau affected by sexual harm, abuse and violence in the Kaipara District

Description: SOS provides FREE and confidential support including:

Face to Face Support: Police statement taking, forensic or medical processes, relocation and Safety Plans

Counselling: for those affected by sexual harm, abuse and violence including ACC Sensitive Claims counselling

Refuge Accommodation: for women and their children who have experienced violence and abuse

Prevention Education Programmes: Our Education workers facilitate programmes centered on violence and abuse. Programmes can be tailored to meet the groups need and are available to community members and groups, family/whānau groups, schools and professionals.

We are a member of the National Collective of Rape Crisis Aotearoa and abide by the philosophy of "Listen, Believe, Support" when counselling survivors of sexual abuse.

Women’s Empowerment programme – centered on empowering women through building self-esteem, the understanding of self and the development of decision making and strengthening communication skills. Parenting Programme – builds positive parenting through sharing effective ways of working with children and understanding the impact of negativity and conflict affecting children in the family/whānau .
