Description

GRG is a charitable trust providing support to grandparents and other whānau / kin caregivers who are raising their grandchildren/whānau children full-time in New Zealand.

Our objective is to support and empower families to achieve positive life outcomes through support services and education programmes that help to protect, preserve and promote the wellbeing and stability of children and their grandparents/kin carers in circumstances where they cannot be raised by their parent/s.

Staff

GRG has a national head office team, as well as dedicated and committed Local GRG Support Coordinators who are volunteers experienced in the issues involved in raising grandchildren or someone else's child/tamariki.

Membership of GRG and all our services are free of charge for all fulltime grandparent and other caregivers raising someone else's child.

Caregiver Education

Our Caregiver Education programmes are specifically tailored to meet the needs of grandparents and whanau caregivers who are raising their grandchildren/mokopuna or someone else's child within their wider family or whanau, hapu, iwi. They focus on providing easy to understand strategies for understanding and managing challenging behaviour; often the result of trauma the children have experienced before coming into care.
