CBD or other medicinal cannabis may reduce the emotional distress associated with reducing or stopping alcohol or other problem substances. Dr Graham Gulbransen is a Specialist GP and Addiction Fellow with 30 years’ experience in medical detoxification. He has supported families with home detoxes from alcohol and other drugs. Dr Gulbransen has also provided consultations for Zen, The Turning Point, Capri and Federal St and continue to work with clients attending CADS (Auckland Community Alcohol and Drug Services). Detoxification - my work I assess and prescribe medicinal cannabis and sometimes other medication for clients stopping (or reducing) these substances: Alcohol Methamphetamine Cannabis Tobacco Benzodiazepines and opioids (may need authorisation from CADS) MEDICATION PRESCRIBED Naltrexone to reduce alcohol craving and limit binges Diazepam to reduce withdrawal symptoms Thiamine (vitamin B1) to reduce the harm to the nervous system Disulfiram (antabuse) Metoclopramide for nausea Medicinal cannabis for acute anxiety or insomnia Vaping is highly recommended to reduce or stop smoking CBD (medicinal cannabis) taken as oral drops may ease emotional distress or pain underlying an addiction. CBD plus THC may help with sleep and/or pain.

From Western Springs or MOTAT take St Lukes Rd, go past the St Lukes Mall, turn Right at Kingsway Av traffic lights and take the first driveway on your Left. Park anywhere in the grounds of the Grow Centre villa.
If coming from Sandringham along St Lukes Rd, turn into the 97 St Lukes Rd driveway (with stone walls), immediately after the St Lukes Medical Centre red signs at 99 St Lukes Rd. Or turn Left at the traffic lights for Kingsway Av. Take the first driveway on the Left of Kingsway Av and park anywhere in the grounds of the Grow Centre villa.
