Description

CAB provides free, confidential, independent information and advice to anyone in the community about anything. There are no criteria to meet to use the CAB service – they will help and advise anyone.
They help people to;

  • understand their rights and obligations under the law
  • have the confidence and support they need to take action or the next step
  • access the services they need

The Dunedin Ōtepoti CAB service is provided by skilled Volunteer Bureau Interviewers who are supported by a manager and a comprehensive online knowledge base that is credible, reliable, and current.

CAB are contactable face to face by phone or via email

They have three language support services available including access to Te Whatu Ora Southern interpreters (funded by the DCC) to be at CAB with you. They also have access to an on-demand phone interpreter service and CAB interviewers who can offer the CAB service in other languages.

Walk in

Ground Floor, Rodgers House, 155 Princes St, Dunedin. 
Call at the start of either shift (either 10.00 am or 1.00 pm) to check the volunteers on shift can see you (there may already be clients in the interview room and we don't want you to be waiting for a long time). Most of the time we can help you over the phone.
