Description

Te Whare Whānau Pūrotu Inc is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting our Wāhine, Tamariki and Whānau to live violence-free in Te-Matau-a-Māui, Hawke's Bay.

We are here to help you understand what you are experiencing and to support you to live a life free from violence and abuse. We provide confidential services that are tailored to your needs. 

Our services include:

Crisis and Support Line: We offer a phone service 24/7. Call us any time for information and support.

Advocacy and Support: Our advocates are trained in many areas and can inform you of your legal rights, your financial rights, and your right to live a lifestyle free of violence and abuse. Our advocates can help you arrange appointments with Lawyers, Doctors, Police, Work and Income or any other agency that best suits your needs. 

Safe House: Whether on your own or with children, we provide Safe House services for women who would otherwise be in danger of harm, due to family violence. 

Whānau Protect: National Home Safety Service. Supports high-risk victims of family violence to continue living in their own homes. The service provides practical safety improvements to help keep offenders away from the property until the police arrive. The service also includes the installation of a monitored security alarm for six months.

Kaupapa Māori

We are a kaupapa Māori Whare that support predominantly Māori however, we will still support all ethnicities provided that they are willing to share a kaupapa Māori space.
