Dr Hemant Kheterpal

General Practitioner

Qualifications

MB BS 1999 Delhi; FRNZCGP 2024

Profile

GP  /  Director

I completed my primary medical degree in 1998 and went on to work across a range of hospital specialties including Medicine, Surgery, Emergency and Trauma, Paediatrics, Geriatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and rural General Practice. I later moved to Singapore, where I pursued further training in Family Medicine. Over the years, I have also developed a strong interest in dermatoscopic skin checks and minor surgical procedures.

I have been working in General Practice since 2005. With over 27 years of experience, I’ve had the opportunity to care for patients with a wide variety of health concerns. I am also a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (FRNZCGP). After gaining experience in Singapore and working in both Masterton and Auckland, I chose to take on the role of GP owner and clinic director. It felt like a natural step, and I value the opportunity to contribute to the community that has supported my growth as a doctor.

I work alongside my wife, Dr. Alka Kheterpal, who is also a GP. She is especially appreciated by many of our female patients for her approachable and thorough care. Our elder son is currently finishing his medical degree at the University of Auckland and is looking forward to starting his own path in medicine. Outside of work, I enjoy art, travelling, and spending time in nature.

I can speak fluent English, Hindi and Punjabi.

Available on: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays.
