Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is an important step you can take to protect yourself, your kaumātua and whānau from the effects of the virus. For more information on the COVID-19 vaccines and eligibility visit Ministry of Health - COVID-19 vaccines
The majority of routine vaccinations can now be administered before, after, or at the same time as your COVID-19 vaccinations. The exception to this is the Zostavax (shingles) vaccine where a 7-day gap before or after receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 is advised. If you have any questions, please discuss with your health provider.

Covid-19 testing
Designated GP Practice
We are a designated COVID-19 testing practice.
Anyone can get a test who has symptoms or has been advised by Public Health to be tested. (Please note this swabbing service is not for pre departure travel swabs)
No appointment is required for a Covid 19 swab.
Testing clinics are held on (no appointment required, but please phone the practice on 03 4430725 to be given instructions on where to park)
- Monday to Friday 11am to 12pm (noon)
- Weekends and Public Holidays 10:30am to 11:30am
If you feel your symptoms are severe and may require medical attention, please contact your practice if you are a resident of Wanaka or if from out of town, call us on 03 4430725.
The testing clinic is held at the back of the Wanaka Lakes Health Centre. 23 Cardrona Valley Road, Wanaka.
Where to park:
- Drive into the main carpark area, drive straight ahead, towards the signage that says, “Emergency Vehicles and After Hours” (this is a red sign on the lamp post straight ahead)
- As you turn left you will see some port-a-coms on the left and carparking on the right
- Reverse into a free carpark
- Remain in your vehicle and one of our team will assist you
- Masks must be worn by all people over the age of 12 in the vehicle

Testing for International Travel
This clinic provides pre-departure testing for people who travelling internationally. Please call to book an appointment.
If you are unvaccinated and require a a pre-departure travel swab for domestic travel please contact your pharmacy.
Description
We are a friendly Lake Wanaka medical centre offering a range of health services, from general medical care to specialised services. Our medical staff have a broad range of skills and specialisations, so you can access a range of expertise without having to travel from Wanaka.

Our fees vary according to the length and type of consultation, materials used, level of Government subsidy, your age and your residency status. Our fees reflect the increased responsibilities, equipment and on-call requirements of rural doctors. If you want to clarify the cost of your consultation in advance, please ask our reception staff.
A standard consultation is a 15 minute consultation within normal weekday clinic hours.
Higher charges apply for after hours call-outs, weekend clinics, home visits and extended consultations.
Eftpos and credit card facilities are available.

After Hours:
After hours medical care is administered by doctors from both Aspiring Medical Centre and Wanaka Medical Centre. Phone calls to either medical centre will be taken by the nurse triage service and directed appropriately. There is always a doctor on-call.
