Description

We provide a safe, supportive enviornment for people recovering from substance dependency and enhance the wellness of those experiencing mental illness.

We operate from 7A Craigie Avenue in Timaru.

Our Addiction service provides:

  • Residential support and treatment for people who are experiencing significant harm as a result of their own alcohol and/or other drug use. A range of options are available dependent on the treatment plan.
  • Outreach support in a location of the person's choice to work with them on reducing the impact of substance use.
  • Regular group meetings to support people to reduce the impact of addiction on them.

Our Activities service offers:

  • A range of scheduled activities for people who experience mental health concerns. We believe engaging people in meaningful activities, achieving goals and learning new skills will support their recovery.
  • We employ a support worker who works with individuals to help them to develop goals and support them in their search for employment.

This service is for individuals 20 years and over with a primary diagnosis of moderate to severe alcohol and/or other drug dependency.

Description

Social detoxification is a non-medical detox, for someone who does not require a medical intervention. Planned Social Detoxification is provided at the House or in people's own homes. It is via referral from the SCDHB A&OD service.

Community Addiction Support

This service assists people to access a range of support services related to community living such as recovery education, vocational and social, as well as alcohol and drug rehabilitation services. Emphasis is placed on integration into the community and access to community based rehabilitation options such as specialist or cultural assessment and social work.

Access to this service must come via referral from any source including: GP, DHB, Social services and  self referral. Acceptance will be subject to the management and team at Caroline House.

This service is for individuals 20 years and over with a primary diagnosis of moderate to severe alcohol and/or other drug dependency.

This service assists people to access a range of support services related to community living such as recovery education, vocational and social, as well as alcohol and drug rehabilitation services.
